Gelmir, west of Altus Plateau, so you will typically have acquired the two medallion halves to use the Grand Lift of Dectus , unless you found the alternate path in Liurnia via Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Incidentally, reaching Volcano Manor is the same path for finding the map fragment for Mt. This requires a long route that has you exploring most of the mountain. From here travel north of Altus Plateau, where you'll likely be fired on by nearby catapults. From there, you'll pass a troll caravan and eventually cross the Bridge of Iniquity that takes you to Mt. Gelmir, with a Site of Grace on the other side. If you follow this path northwards, you'll eventually come to a dead end. Climb up both flights of stairs and you'll find a waygate. On the altar where he spawned, you can pick up the Serpent's Amnion.

There is a third way of reaching this place: I reached it through Ninth Mt. Take the next ladder you see on your left, fight through a camp of frenzied Soldiers and Knight , descend north down a ramp, look west, and then cross the bridge to the Ninth Mt. When he runs straight at you there's no need to lead your shot with manual aim to hit him where he is going to be, this allows you to target-lock him and use the rapid fire arrows from the AoW, he wont get very far from his starting position, the arrows hitting him don't just interrupt his attempts to use the black flame incantations, it also prevents him moving forward for some reason, he can be killed before he gets anywhere near you. If you feel bad about doing the assassination quests just remember your fellow Tarnished are also competing to become Elden Lord and would likely betray you if they see you becoming too powerful, I like to think they only helped in earlier boss fights not out of a sense of brotherheood, but because they wanted a meatshield for their own purposes. You can enter the Drawing Room and grab the Letter from Volcano Manor off the table, beginning the assassination missions sidequest. At the top of the ladder, turn left and follow this path, where you can either take on two man-serpents, one wielding a magma sword while the other has a magma whip, or run past them until you reach the end with a door you have to open up. From here, you can continue reading on to navigate your way through the Volcano Manor's actual dungeon area, but if you'd rather take up Tanith's offer to skip ahead to the boss click here.
