Auras are a type of Mod that provides a passive beneficial effect to the entire squad rather than the Warframe it is equipped on exclusively. If several players in a squad carry copies of the same Aura, the Auras' effects will stack additively. Additionally, Auras add to your total mod capacity rather than deduct from it like regular mods , hence higher rank Aura mods are typically more desirable to maximize mod capacity for other mods without the need of Forma. An Aura slot with a polarity, from top to bottom, without any Auras equipped, with an aura of the same polarity equipped in this case, Energy Siphon and an aura with a different polarity equipped in this case, Steel Charge which has a polarity. Aura effects are map-wide , except specific auras that are explicitly limited on the effect within a player's range like Enemy Radar , Infested Impedance and Loot Detector. Furthermore, equipping an Aura with a matching polarity increases mod capacity even more, specifically by double of the Aura's "drain" parameter e. The Aura slot can be polarized, either just as a regular mod slot with a Forma for a specific polarity, or with a special Aura Forma to be universally compatible with any Aura Mod Polarity. Aura Effectiveness is an upgrade that increases the effect of other players' Auras on the player themselves by a percent bonus. As of Update Aura Strength is an upgrade that increases the effect of the player's Aura mod on other players in the squad by a percent bonus. Auras are primarily obtained as a Cred Offering , though some Auras are obtained as enemy drops, from The Silver Grove Specters , or as rewards from Arbitrations. Update

Do you ever just remove the polarity from an aura socket instead of putting a elusive aura forma in a warframe to get a little more build flexibility? Not worth losing the extra mod capacity. If I'm going to forma that slot, I already have the mod I want to use in mind. It's not about lack of flexibility so much as lack of meaningful options across the different polarities, and not every warframe is going to benefit from aura flexibility. In fact I did that for several frames already. I'll forma if I need to run differening config Aura's for builds, plus doing Arbies you get them so I'll damn well use them. Recent changes to Arbitrations in Warframe have introduced the Aura Forma as a reward, but what exactly does it do? Warframe has introduced some changes to Arbitrations, and with those changes comes a new type of reward, the Aura Forma. You will no longer need to set it to a specific polarity, and then only really be able to use Aura mods of that same polarity. Instead, you can just switch in any Aura mod that you wish to use. You can get the Aura Forma by playing Arbitrations.

Choosing Aura Forma to apply and upon confirmation, Warframe's aura slot will become universally polarized and then reset the chosen Warframe to rank 0.
