The park that is right next door to Watergate Restaurant. The good news is that we loved our experience at Watergate Restaurant for these 4 reasons…….. Can you imagine yourself sipping cocktails here? The good news is that parts of the cocktail bar area overlook the gardens so we were able to keep a sharp eye on their antics, and they could easily return to refuel on their lemonades. Everyone on the staff were smiling, attentive and there when we needed them. Anyone who dines out with kids truly appreciates the ability to wave down a waiter when you really need them. Both kids gave the crocodile starter a BIG thumbs up — this was after we had cruised the Daintree River and admired these creatures in the wild….. The serving sizes were more than substantial and easily made you feel satisfied at the end of the night. SO, would we return? The entrance is down a flame lit path from Macrossan Street. Happy Hour runs from pm every day at their cocktail bar. Both indoor and outdoor dining available. The restaurant is open for lunch from midday and dinner is served from 5. It's been 2 years since our last visit to Port Douglas and our favourite restaurant in this magical setting of the Watergate This time round we tried some new resturants some even more expensive than the Watergate yet the Watergate still remains our favourite. Amazing staff and service from the moment we arrived, the lovely lady that greets you at the front doors, to David and especially Kiara our waitress that made our night so special, you can't fault a thing, the food is outstanding, value for money for this exceptional quality , our family whom had not visited Port Douglas yet knew why we left this restaurant till last Please don't change what your doing! I booked this restaurant weeks prior to my arrival as had wanted a special meal out with my husband. The ambience of the restaurant was stunning and gave us a good feeling of what was to come.
