Warning: this article contains spoilers for the Saw franchise, up to and including Saw: The Final Chapter. Saw is one of my favourite films. It was one of the first horror movies my big brothers showed me, and as such it has a very special place in my heart.

By cypher January 25, in The Media Room. I'm a big fan of the SAW movies, but I have been wondering Gordon after he cuts his foot off? I know he crawls away, but did Jigsaw kill him, did he die of blood loss, or are we even supposed to know? I was really hoping he was going to be helping the detectives in Saw 2 or 3, but he wasn't in either movie. While it has never been officially stated in any of the films, Leigh Whannel has stated in interviews that Dr. Gordon did in fact die. The reason they have never answered this in the films is because the guy who played Dr. Gordon, Carey Elwes, sued because he said he was not paid what he felt was rightfully his for his part. If I'm not mistaken, the lawsuit is still pending which prevents him from returning to his character, not that Leigh Whannel or Lionsgate would ever want him to. There are many theories on what exactly happened to Dr. Matthew's son , while others say he is still alive.
The two bodies are Adam photographer and Zep who was poisoned by Jigsaw and he kidnapped Gordons wife and daughter, I seem to remember that it was Adam who killed Zep with a large floor tile but it could have been Gordon.
While he claims to not be a serial killer, Jigsaw is one of the most effective murderers in horror, leaving few Saw survivors. John used the Jigsaw identity to help wayward and damaged people reform, learning to have a new appreciation for life by making a sacrifice of blood and flesh to survive. He claimed he was helping people appreciate life more, yet most people failed his twisted tests. Though there have been a few Saw survivors Jigsaw didn't initially kill. The upcoming Saw X will surely see the number of Jigsaw victims increase with new characters put to the test. Many of the people Jigsaw targets are far from sympathetic characters, and watching them get theirs can be a form of catharsis. As sadistic as John Kramer was, some of his followers who carried on his legacy were even worse, not caring about any lessons being learned and making the traps purposely impossible to escape.
Ever since Cary Elwes took the titular saw in Saw and sliced his foot off in the original film horror fans were eager to see him return. Each subsequent year after that film's release saw another sequel debut and though many featured references to Elwes' Dr. Despite the clear ending intended for that movie, the series continued, producing two more movies including the most recent Spiral: From the Book of Saw , so is there a path for Dr. Gordon to come back? When asked if he'd ever return to the part in the horror franchise, Elwes didn't rule it out but also revealed he didn't think there was much left for that character to do.

The last thing he remembers is a pig-mask-wearing attacker coming at him in his dingy apartment. When Adam's uncooperative attitude caused another argument between him and Lawrence, he suddenly asked the latter to turn off the light. One more thing Lawrence sent him an anonymous letter with the message, "I know who you are. Gordon joins Jigsaw later down the line as a primary antagonist. He sanitized Lawrence's stump, gave him a prosthetic leg, and nursed him back to health. In Saw IV, Lawrence is referenced to, but not by name, when Homicide Detective Fisk discovers that "another doctor" has been abducted from the same hospital by the Jigsaw Killer, referring to Lynn Denlon. Saw X. Lynn tells John that she recognizes him from TV, and that Lawrence was his doctor. Nonetheless, Lawrence also had a charming personality, as proven by his relationship with Carla, who seemed to have actual feelings for him. The second movie, to me, seemed kind of rushed and not well thought out for some reason. Gordon did not yet join Jigsaw as an accomplice. Lawrence took the phone and was warned that the caller knew about his affair, which caused him to leave hectically. He put the round in the revolver's chamber, and apologized to Adam before shooting him. Also in the box was a note, meant just for him, that told him that he didn't have to shoot Adam, but could instead poison him with one of the cigarettes, if it were dipped in the puddle of toxic blood. Lawrence however, picked up the saw, throwing it out of the room. Lawrence frantically tried to shoot him, but he had no more bullets. After the disturbing events in the bathroom, Lawrence quit his job at the Angel of Mercy Hospital and started working at the Saint Eustace Hospital. However, the post-credit scene of Saw VI reveals that Amanda told Corbett not to trust the man who saved her, implying the little girl was the one who told the police of Hoffman's involvement. Logan Nelson , made a careless mistake and inadvertently mixed up John's x-rays with those of another patient, Alex Rubinstein. Hoffman nearly became a victim of one of Jigsaw's most famous traps when John's widow Jill attempted to punish him for his corrupt use of John's legacy and trapped him in a reverse bear trap. What would that have achieved? Adam begged Lawrence not to leave, but Lawrence assured Adam that he would bring someone back to save him, before crawling away. Out of fear that he could destroy the tape player by throwing it across the room, Adam refused and demanded the tape from Lawrence, which the latter eventually threw to him after briefly protesting against it.
