One night when coming back to camp, you can find Lae'zel and Shadowheart arguing about an artifact. On one hand, it seems to belong to the Githyanki. On the other, it's protecting the you and everyone else from being controlled by a God. It is possible to calmly put a stop to the conflict — It's all up to the luck of the dice. When you recruit Lae'zel into your party, she insists that you find a creche to solve your Mindflayer tadpole problem. Pursuing this quest will eventually put you face-to-face with a Githyanki patrol. If you have Lae'zel with you, she'll run off to greet them. While participating in the conversation, you learn that the Githyanki are looking for the artifact you have.
