Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is an action role-playing dungeon crawler video game developed and published by Wolcen Studios and released for Windows in February and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March The dark fantasy -themed game progresses across a three-act storyline in which players explore procedurally-generated maps to battle hordes of monsters and collect valuable loot. The player is a member of the Army of the Purifiers along with two childhood friends, and has become part of operation Dawnbane to retaliate against the Brotherhood of Dawn which has attacked a mysterious fortress. The action RPG gameplay is respectable and even ahead of the class in some areas. The two-chambered heart of a hack-and-slash adventure like Wolcen is made up of combat and character customization. Specials also have a relatively long cooldown and your character has a limited number of dodge rolls that recharge slowly over time. All of this combined heavily discourages button-mashing, making for precise and exciting tactical encounters that made me consider timing and my resources carefully.
