WrestleMania is a week away. It was a mixed bag. Omos was the only person to actually be weighed in the official weigh-in for his WrestleMania match with Brock Lesnar, but he did punk Lesnar out when Lesnar tried to attack him, so that gives him the advantage going into the match, I guess. But will we ever find out how much Lesnar weighs? That's bad enough to have to sit through once, but WWE made it worse by teaming the faces and the heels for an eight-man tag on WWE Raw last night. The faces won, driving Otis further into the arms of Maximum Male Models. Austin Theory cut an empty arena promo on John Cena that reminded us of the worst parts of the pandemic: empty arenas and Austin Theory.

After weeks of buildup, Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura stepped into the ring on Monday to see if they could put this feud to bed once and for all. Let's take a look at what CM Punk had to say and everything else that happened on Monday's show. Raw opened with Drew McIntyre in the ring talking about how he came up short last week in his quest to win the world title. After a couple of minutes of ranting, CM Punk made his way to the ring. The Scottish Warrior ripped into Punk for various reasons. Tensions rose, but The Best in the World said he was going to walk away before it turned into a fight. He made sure to tell McIntyre he would eliminate him last in the men's Royal Rumble match. This was a good segment, especially because Punk and McIntyre have almost no in-ring history. They have never had a singles match before, so this combo is instantly intriguing. The Scot had an especially strong performance here. Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest accompanied their respective partners to the ring. These are two guys who are known for their work rate and athleticism, so this was never going to be anything less than a good performance. They followed a standard formula with the heel having the upper hand most of the time so the babyface could get a pop when they began to make a comeback.

This match had a lot of crowd participation and comedy spots, which were helped by the presence of Truth and Dominik Mysterio at ringside. Mohammed Shami, wwe raw highlights. The ending was a bit contrived, but most of this match was enjoyable.

Not before Rollins revealed a new nickname for The Great One, though. Dubbing Rock "Diarrhea Dwayne," he cited his long-winded promos and childish insults. This was an energetic promo to kick off the show, even if there was not nearly as much accomplished as other segments involving Rhodes and Rollins to this point in the build to the April 6 and 7 show. Expect fireworks Friday night on SmackDown, though, as all four Superstars are in the same arena at the same time, for the first time since the WrestleMania Kickoff event in Las Vegas. On the heels of a foolish staredown by Dominik Mysterio toward Intercontinental Champion Gunther, the second-generation star squared off with The Ring General Monday night. It went about as well as expected, with Gunther overwhelming Mysterio with his arsenal of strikes, chopping the air out of his opponent. The most despised man in WWE mounted a comeback and was quite impressive as the babyface fighting from underneath, but Gunther cut him down, delivered a powerbomb, and tapped him out with the Boston Crab or the win. As a one-off showdown between two heels, this was executed well and added a little bit of heat to the teased Judgment Day-Imperium feud from a week ago.

Most revolved around the Intercontinental Championship. Not only did Gunther defeat Dominik Mysterio handedly, setting JD McDonagh up for the gauntlet match next week, but Sami Zayn also earned a massive win over Ivar, giving him victories in back-to-back weeks heading into the gauntlet. The IC title wasn't the only championship with a lot on the line this week though. Hearing the crowd echo "YEET" after every sentence from Uso's mouth was enough to get anyone hyped for the fight.
