By ktgrokNovember 18, in The Chat Board. Ok, so I'm hooked on the Minimal Mom youtube channel. I don't have a basement, or much of an attic space, so for me if it goes, it goes permanently.
Dawn Madsen, also known as The Minimal Mom, and her family have lived as minimalists for 7 years now. Passionate about the message of minimalism, most often you can find her on YouTube sharing practical tips and ideas to simplify and declutter. Dawn shares her ideas with over a million people each month, was recently featured on the Today show, is author of Declutter Your Home in 15 Minutes a Day and is the co-creator of the Take Your House Back course. As a mom, I know the struggle is REAL when it comes to running a YouTube channel, running a business, and being present for my kids, and I know so many of my students, clients, and listeners can totally relate. Dawn is a minimalist YouTuber, business owner, and course creator, all while being a busy homeschooling mom!

She has some wacky ideas which we ignored, but putting everything that goes together in a pile then "putting back those that spark joy" or those you really need works so well. I don't have a basement, or much of an attic space, so for me if it goes, it goes permanently. She questioned why she would need to do that if it all fit in the container. Does it matter what those specific items are or how much they cost? I spent so much time getting rid of stuff before each move. I buy classic shirts and sweaters - typically from Gap or somewhere like that, and I wear them until they have holes. But - I'm still very inspired. I do need to clear out old curriculum, that's my failing. I have no problem getting rid of stuff we don't use. YouTube has been an incredible way for Dawn to build a community and a business. It may be a lot easier to do this when your children and husband are away most of the time. Carrie Posted November 18, On a good day, the main areas can appear minimal-adjacent. Dawn only promoted this through YouTube, and she sold 15, workbooks and had 5, sign-ups for her courseā¦ all because of YouTube! This is an inexpensive light that does that trick!

They didn't want half the stuff they got. Are we friends on the 'gram yet? I have no problem getting rid of stuff we don't use. When there are a lot of people in a house, and they need quite a lot of stuff, then it becomes a storage issue rather than an issue of "minimalism" in my opinion. Kajabi is the BEST platform hands down. I cannot identify with her need to get rid of books though. PrincessMommy Posted November 18, My husband Posted November 20, edited. We do minimal events; instead of cramming a Christmassy thing into each day as I used to do when they were little , I select events for the season that I enjoy: a Messiah concert, my friend's ugly sweater party, and perhaps one more thing if it comes up. Each child has 3 drawers MALM Ikea drawers, and the couple of spare drawers that leaves between all the kids are used for kid sized sheets and bedding. My only tip is that maintaining minimalism takes continuous work.
