As with all new restaurants, we encourage you to visit, but expect occasional bobbles along the way as the staff is trained and procedures are learned. Theme restaurants used to be more popular, and we applaud the decision to bring the concept back and offer this fun experience to a whole new generation of diners. This is not a me-too Tex Mex place; the broad slate of unique dishes meld both Texas cuisines into something both unique and craveable. Chef Gina Antimo brings her very personal approach to Mexican cooking to the establishment, and her care is evident on every plate. The menu changes weekly; Gina creates new dishes from the best and freshest ingredients available… but a few dishes make repeat appearances, including the stellar Enchiladas Verdes, one of our favorites. We never expect to find great ethnic foods in the suburbs, but Mezze 1 turned our expectations upside down. This hidden gem, tucked away along the new Grand Central Parkway between the Woodlands and Conroe, may be the best Middle Eastern restaurant in the entire Houston area. Along the way he mastered the cuisines of the Middle East, and we benefit from his experiences. Hungry patrons flock for such authentic dishes as bao, xiao long bao soup dumplings and hand-pulled noodles. Modern Italian cuisine from the Orioli group is the draw at Terra Vino, the rebranded concept that was previously an Avanti location. Zoning in on the needs of the neighborhood, the establishment brings a distinctly modern spin on Italian, while maintaining the high standards that the Oriloi group is known for.

The Huliaris family inherited the name, The Olive Oil, from the original restaurant owners. Whether you go for lunch or dinner, you are in for a treat with their expansive menu. The Olive Oil features a belly dancer, Greek dancing and plate smashing on Friday and Saturday nights. This is an excellent spot for a casual family dinner or even a date night, in a relaxed atmosphere. But while Greek food is obviously their specialty, The Olive Oil offers so much more, like burgers, fish and chips, Fettuccini Alfredo, pork chops to name just a few of their non-Greek choices.
