Lenoir stars as Adam Franco, a stoic bruiser who overcame a tragic childhood to find a home in law enforcement as an undercover agent. This is an ideal role for Lenoir, who handles the punching and shooting parts of action movies well, but really excels at the brooding. TV-MA, for language, nudity, sex, smoking and violence. What Was Kelsey's Note About? Christine Blasey Ford. Those of us who grunted our way through one or both of the Lost Bullet movies may raise an eyebrow of interest in the general direction of AKA now on Netflix. In other words, bear down for some brutality, folks! The aforementioned has nothing to do with the majority of the plot here, but it does establish that Adam is a sociopath who can gun down a few dozen people and then go home for a peaceful little nappy-poo. Maybe breakfast tastes better after littering a landscape with corpses? The dynamic in the Pastore household is, in a word, problematic. Adam and fellow hired gun Pee Wee Saidou Camara do some good old-fashioned violent business for the boss; meanwhile, Adam secretly reports back to a couple of allies monitoring him in a stakeout van. We learn a couple things about Adam, including a very dark moment from his past, and the very impressive fact that he was once shot five times from point-blank range and lived, and has the scars to prove it. One imagines he took a day, maybe two, to convalesce. And he shows up! With a gift! I guess this monosyllabic slab has a heart somewhere under all that meat after all. And it just might make this gig even more complicated than it already is. But is it fun?
Christine Blasey Ford. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women.
They also failed to capture enough attention to franchise something with those notable names. So many American action films rush to tell you as much as you need to know about their lead character so they can get right to the elaborate fight sequences and quests for complete annihilation of some criminal organization. While a lot of the characters, including Adam, run very thin with varying degrees of cliche, I believe the film does just enough with them to move the story along and get us to the next explosive outburst. Overall, AKA is a solid entry for fans of Lenoir and the Lost Bullet film series with enough guns blazing to satisfy any fan of action-laden crime thrillers. Though he has similarly few lines to that of John Wick these days. He reads like a watered down French version of Tom Hardy or Jason Statham and could repeat these types of films for several years to come.

The former stuntman is one of the most fascinating up-and-coming action stars. Over the past few years, action fans have been treated to a run of solid French programming on Netflix. The latest entry in this burgeoning scene is AKA , a new Netflix pickup that stars Alban Lenoir as Adam Franco, a highly skilled special-ops agent faced with one of his most dangerous assignments yet. Franco is implanted undercover on the security team of a notorious crime lord infamous soccer legend Eric Cantona, a tough guy once suspended from the sport for kicking a fan. A few years after that came Lost Bullet , a tightly contained vehicular thriller where Lenoir plays Lino, a master mechanic and thief pulled into a scheme by crooked cops and framed for murder. In order to prove his innocence, he has to find the last remaining piece of evidence from the crime — a single lost bullet. Lost Bullet and Lost Bullet 2 are among the best action movies of the decade, using simple narratives to construct elaborate, kinetic set pieces. His characters get hit plenty, and are frequently exhausted by the grueling fights they wind up in.

Dalibert which opens, what looked like a save situation in which a guy is tied up from behind in a cave, with a bag over his head taken captive on purpose for the intention of saving another person brought into another small holding cell right next to his. French version of Jason Statham's "The Transporter". I must admit that based on the film's opening sequence, I was expecting something more glamorous, but once the story really got goin, I found myself fully invested. I chanced upon this French crime-action-thriller on Netflix and was totally taken aback by the planning and execution of it's action scenes, though it is not a genre that I particularly enjoy. Dalibert failed to direct Lenoir properly, as his acting seemed unusually flat. Read our full AKA movie review here! I think this guy would be my top vote for Jack Reacher if it weren't for Alan Ritchson. It works on every level that a movie like this should Runtime 2 hours 2 minutes. I was first introduced to him in Lost Bullet, and became a fan ever since. Secret agent baddi from the military with a soft spot in his heart for a young kid.
What Is The '3 Body Problem'?
The action hero is played by a French actor Alban Lenoir I have never heard of, who manages to play the role just as well as Matt Damon, Liam Neeson, or Keanu Reeves would have played had they acted in this movie. And then by the time he settled back to France again where he lives, viewers then find out that the lady he shot and killed in cold blood, who viewers thought was sent to save her, was also her executioner as well, is really a whistleblower, and that her body is nowhere to be found. Most of the time dubbed movies are really poor. A few years after that came Lost Bullet , a tightly contained vehicular thriller where Lenoir plays Lino, a master mechanic and thief pulled into a scheme by crooked cops and framed for murder. First the film is in French, so if you speak french or don't mind reading subtitles it's a solid choice. Christine Blasey Ford. Sign In. My other issue was Dalibert's directing failed to bring out the urgency and suspense in many scenes. All Sections. The best things about the fight scenes are how effective and good the timings and movements were well planned and make sense as if it was directed by a martial artist coach for a marine or army. Eight out of ten.
It is a pity, that now I can not express - there is no free time. But I will return - I will necessarily write that I think on this question.
