No storage during takeoff and landing. But with 9 seats in a row this is rather tight and not that comfortable for a long flight. These seats do recline and have a tray and video screen in the arm rests.

The controls can be a little erratic, but that might just have been a single seat issue on the outbound flight. The food could be a bit better but otherwise this is as comfortable a ride you can get in any business class. My first time in business with Air Canada and found the heavy padded seat belt a little strange but got used to this. Cabin temperature was perfect. Further, the warning of galley noise is completely false, this is not an issue in this seat at all. And they were. And it narrows again in front of the seat, so there's less leg room than you would expect. Dreamliner has it all, for me. I recently flew United from Los angeles to Melbourne, AU with a flight tome of 15 hours and 50 minutes. Extremely uncomfortable on a long haul flight between Hong Kong and Vancouver.

Air Canada calls this a preferred extra cost seat. Glad I was not in economy on this full flight from yvr to yyz. Great space between seat and window so taller people have some extra space to spread legs. The seat recline is a bit limited but not too bad. Seat 27 J is a standard Economy Plus seat that has extra legroom due to the exit in front however, the proximity to the lavatories and galleys may be bothersome. PROS: Service was great, the flight attendants were extremely friendly and attentive. Passengers traveling with infants are often seated here as there is a bassinet in this row. The flight attendants told me that many people complain about that seat. The shelves and storage in 5D is much more narrow than the same type of seat in 6D. These are middle economy plus seats that do not recline more than a couple of inches, so you will be sitting upright for the entire 15 hours from LAX to MEL. There are 2 versions of this aircraft. You also get air nozzles directed down towards you which is great for comfort when using blankets when sleeping. Only complaint is the location of the IFE screen. Seat 30 A is a standard Economy Class seat whose proximity to the lavatories may be bothersome and is missing a window. Seat 12 G is a standard Premium Economy Class Bulkhead seat whose proximity to the lavatories and galleys may be bothersome.
