I lived 5 years in Clayton. Some people said the crime rate is high, especially near Monash Uni, but I never faced any problems there. There is a great Aquatic and Fitness club adjoined to a local library and theatre in central Clayton, I find the prices cheap for the centre, and the staff friendly at all venues. The library has a medium range, but the staff are happy to get books delivered from other libraries. There are some homeless people who call the suburb home, but are they actually really a con like other people have said?
