An application to convert an agricultural building at Weddicar Hall into residential accommodation was refused and approved plans to extend a Millom property forming two additional bedrooms and store. Approval was given for the installation of 22 ground mounted solar panels at Kirkland as well as the construction of a roof over an existing slurry lagoon at Fleming Hall in Gosforth.

Planning councillors have defended their "democratic right" to disagree with officers' recommendations after being criticised by a mayor. Copeland mayor Mike Starkie said it was "rather concerning" three of the council's planning committee "voted against advice a combined 43 times". He said training should be improved, although councillors pointed out the training tells them they can disagree. Officers make recommendations but councillors decide on applications.
