Headphones bought and tested.
I'm pretty new to the whole audiophile world. It wasn't until I started working in an open office in Chicago that the need for headphones became an obsession. One concept I've run across a lot is the idea of "endgame headphones", which are presumably the last headphones you'll ever need to buy. I don't know if the SR80e's are that, but they're damn close. Don't be embarassed, I also had no idea. As someone who spent years going through Apple headphones, I'm far from an audiophile. It turns our Grado is a fasinating business.

Our expert, award-winning staff selects the products we cover and rigorously researches and tests our top picks. If you buy through our links, we may get a commission. Reviews ethics statement. If you don't need the isolation of a closed-back design or a built-in microphone for cell phone calls, the SR80e is a great headphone for the money. Grado has not changed the exterior design of the headphone from its predecessors, so -- for an on-ear style headphone -- it's quite comfortable and relatively lightweight. Our only complaint about the design is the plug.
Ihg nice
This is only an introduction to open back, and since Grado's sound is colored for mids, it isn't really saying much Nonetheless, definitely the best headphones I own currently. The fit of the SR80e is different from what you may expect. Not very comfortable. Cons : Build quality is questionable. Sadly, they don't fold up into a more compact format, and the thick cable is a bit bothersome. But when relistening to old favorite albums I felt like I was in the studio or listening to them live. ANC Control. The treble has great extension, but it doesn't have a dry character, so it is not harsh. I constantly keep reading posts in forums and people kept referring to Grados. The treble performance is average. There is perfect balance in all frequencies and nothing is ever drowned out. These are designed to play music. Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1.
They are best known for pick-ups, and for high-end audio products for vinyl enthusiasts, but they also make some amazing headphones, and even when looking at something really affordable, like the SR80e, they manage to offer something special, magical, and most definitely intriguing for those who are on a budget. It should be noted that I have absolutely no affiliation with Grado, I am not receiving any incentive for this review or to sweeten things out. Every opinion expressed is mine and I stand by it, the purpose of this review is to help those interested in Grado SR80e find their next music companion.
Some mention that they're so light it's easy to forget that they are on, while others say that the cable is heavier than most will be used to, and the headphones seem a bit flimsy. This results in a clear and well-balanced reproduction of the fundamental and lower harmonics of vocals and lead instruments. Add to Cart. Page 1 of 1 Start Over Page 1 of 1. Rap music still sounds great, but the Grado's do not emphasize bass over the other tones The Grado SR80e does not come with a microphone. However, the Hemp have a better passive soundstage. Anyone looking for an affordable on ear headphone with excellent detail and retro looks, should give these a listen. However, mid-bass, responsible for body and punch of bass guitars and kick drums, and high-bass, responsible for warmth, are within 1dB of our neutral target. Add to List. They don't block any ambient noise, which won't be ideal for a busy train or bus ride.
I consider, that you are not right. I am assured. Let's discuss.
