With these steps you can easily discover how to keep your electric shaver clean and ready to use! Just push a button and it cleans, dries, and recharges your shaver automatically. So easy and absolutely hygienic. Almost every Braun shaver can be rinsed quickly and easily under running hot water. The cleaning effect can be improved by using a bit of standard liquid soap. And another tip: to give your shaver optimal care, you should put a drop of oil on the cutter block once in a while. After removing the cutter head, the cutter block is easy to clean with the brush. Careful: Never, ever clean the cutter foil with the brush. The cleaning spray helps clean your shaver thoroughly, removing all traces of sebum. After spraying both cutter parts, the residue is easy to remove. After 18 months, you have shaved as many hairs as there are blades of grass on a soccer field! Since the cutter foil and cutter operate like the two parts of a pair of scissors, they inevitably wear out and become dull, which could increase irritation and prevent a closer shave.
Thanks again!
While most electric shavers are easy to clean manually , an automatic cleaning station is the ultimate device for a completely fuss-free shaving experience. All the major manufacturers offer variations of their shavers that include an automatic cleaning station. And while the end goal is the same — charging, cleaning, drying and lubricating the shaver — they can be very different in many ways. For example, the cost of the cleaning cartridges, how well the stations perform, how long the cleaning and drying cycles take to complete — are all things that should be considered by the potential buyer. Braun , one of the most popular manufacturers of electric shavers, offers the option of an automatic cleaning station for all their electric shavers.
One reason for this is of course the prevalence of Braun electric shavers , but the stations themselves are useful and practical as well. The manufacturer even mentions this explicitly in the troubleshooting section of the user manuals, but the directions are extremely vague and not particularly helpful. So, in this guide, I will go over how to identify a clogged Braun cleaning station and how to unclog it in a few easy steps with detailed images. While they may seem complicated at first, the stations are actually pretty basic in the way they are constructed and in the way they work. Basically, the cleaning fluid is pumped from the cartridge through a tube, passes through the shaving head, then flows back into the cartridge through a small drain hole. The bottom of the cleaning chamber is actually slanted towards the drain hole so that the fluid would naturally flow back into the cartridge by gravity alone. Regardless of your Braun station model, there are two holes on the inside of the station: one towards the top of the sloped inner chamber so higher up and one on the bottom corner. With the station open, just push any debris and gunk with the toothpick until it falls from the drainage. You should also inspect the inner chamber and clean it of any dirt, making sure not to push any of it into the drain. When held at the right angle, you should be able to see daylight shining through a clean drain hole.

Hi John, Many thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it! Yes, I always use a bit of liquid soap and warm tap water when doing a manual cleaning. The solution drains away perfectly. Hi Ronald, No, none of these stations will work with a Yohoolyo shaver. It will however only work with a Series 5 shaver that originally came with a cleaning station, like the cc and so on. Try the first two suggestions in this post if you can. Note : Never use the cleaning station if your shaver is not free of any foam and soap residue. Unsubscribe at any time. You can turn the shaver on so that the soap will lather nicely. In the meantime, I just wash it with tap water and some liquid soap. I have found Norelco especially to be weak on videos, most company based with a canned non speaking approach.

Please do. Just placing the shaver in it will not start the cleaning process, you have to actually press the button to start it. A replacement station is very difficult to find. The SmartClean cleaning systems are included with Philips Norelco shavers from the Series , , and Learn more. All the stations, regardless if they come with an entry-level Series 3 or a high-end Series 9, use the same cleaning cartridges. Careful: Never, ever clean the cutter foil with the brush. Thanks again for your sight and the helpful reviews and info! The cleaning cycle on those lasts approximately 3 minutes, sometimes even less depending on the hygiene status of the shaver. Hi Michael, You are very welcome, glad you found it helpful.
