The result is a balanced rocker that feels good both fast and slow. The SuperComp Elite v3 is a little bit of a "jack of all trades" super shoe. For me, the actual fit was really good. I felt it was dialed in throughout and worked well for a long distance shoe. The heel is slightly snug, the midfoot is normal width, and the forefoot is wide.

The SuperComp Elite is a soft, carbon-plated option with a less aggressive plate than many other brands. It feels like you are sliding your foot into a box. Carbon-plated shoes are generally pretty stiff, and the bootie construction makes it hard to lock your foot down in the shoe. Who wants their feet overheating during the summer? If you have a wider foot, it will most likely fit into the SuperComp elite due to the stretchy upper. I believe this is because of their aggressive and heavily rockered build and I usually end up with hamstring problems. Is it from carbon-plated shoes? Is it from massively downhill races? Both aggressively angle your body in an unnatural position. It feels more gentle on your legs for two reasons. The midsole is much softer, and the carbon plate is more flexible and not as stiff. The NB FuellCell SuperComp Elite v3 also has a giant hole on the bottom which is supposed to allow the midsole to splay and have energy return upwards. I do give credit that when running, you can feel that energy but it also collects a lot of rocks. Two rubber pieces are on both the lateral and medial sides and the forefoot. If you hit in other areas, it will wear down faster.
Besides running, Jarrett is a lover of coffee, donuts, pizza, and tacos.
The FuelCell RC Elite v2 made a lot of noise when it launched in — a cushioned, carbon fibre-plated racing shoe aimed at those with PBs in mind. Some loved it and raved about how snappy and stable it was. The glittery purple aesthetic, with mismatched coloured outsoles and logo, meant they were real head-turners, too. But some runners found the RC Elite v2 a little stiff, while others said they caused bruising and blisters. The stretchy synthetic knit upper plays a part, or it could be the change in drop from 8mm to 4mm, or that the carbon plate seems relatively forgiving compared to other super-shoes. Either way, the SC Elite v3 feels comfortable and speedy.

For a few years the Nike Vaporfly was the only show in town, but now every major brand has a carbon plate racing shoe, and most of them release a new generation every year. The SC Elite V3 is still comfortable, but has a faster transition and a firmer ride that make it feel quicker than the RC Elite V2, and make it one of the best carbon plate racers available. The EnergyArc carbon plate and rocker design combine with a large midsole cut-out that runs down the middle of the shoe to create a fast transition from heel to toe and ensure maximum energy return. The shoe also has a drop of just 4mm, much lower than the 10mm of the RC Elite V2. The SC Elite V3 fit me well in my normal size. I have also tested the RC Elite V1 and V2, along with almost all the carbon plate shoes on the market.

The upper material is sock like and feels very comfortable on foot. The lacing in the SC Trainer worked great, and I think bringing that system to this shoe could be a really nice option.
