Question: I have never had any problems out of the truck. The SES light came on and I lost 1st and 4th gears. When i take off from stop its in 2nd gear and then shifts normal to 3rd, but that is it that is all the shifting it will do. Reverse is fine. Code says its a shift solenoid.

Before I drop the pan again to check the connections and wiring, which I am sure is all good, is there anything else I can check without any specialized tools other than my scanguage? I have checked the fuse, as well as the rest of the fuses in the dash and under the hood, everything seems fine there. So I am not too sure what else I can check without bringing it to a shop or just throwing expensive parts at it. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
