The book series aims at covering selected aspects of the interaction between light and living matter, ranging from the photophysical events following the absorption of photons by endogenous or exogenous constituents of biological systems to the large variety of effects caused by UV, visible and near-IR wavelengths at a supramolecular, cellular and tissue level, photochemical & photobiological sciences. Focus is placed on strategies for photochemical & photobiological sciences of ecosystems and plant, animal, human beings against photodamage, as well as on the use of light as an information carrier or a beneficial tool in the field of medicine and environment. An in-depth description of novel emerging topics, such as the use of nanotechnologies in photobiology or the advent of sophisticated time- and space-resolved spectroscopic and microscopic cine starz, is also provided.
Communications contain novel scientific work of such importance that rapid publication is desirable. Authors should briefly indicate in a covering letter the reasons why they feel that publication of their work as a Communication is justified. The recommended length is usually no more than four printed journal pages. Full papers contain original scientific work that has not been published previously. However, work that has been published previously in a short form such as a PPS Communication is normally acceptable. There are no restrictions on the length of a paper.

Chemistry Physical and Theoretical Chemistry. Springer International Publishing AG. How to publish in this journal. The set of journals have been ranked according to their SJR and divided into four equal groups, four quartiles. Q1 green comprises the quarter of the journals with the highest values, Q2 yellow the second highest values, Q3 orange the third highest values and Q4 red the lowest values. The SJR is a size-independent prestige indicator that ranks journals by their 'average prestige per article'. It is based on the idea that 'all citations are not created equal'. SJR is a measure of scientific influence of journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where such citations come from It measures the scientific influence of the average article in a journal, it expresses how central to the global scientific discussion an average article of the journal is. Evolution of the number of published documents. All types of documents are considered, including citable and non citable documents. This indicator counts the number of citations received by documents from a journal and divides them by the total number of documents published in that journal. The chart shows the evolution of the average number of times documents published in a journal in the past two, three and four years have been cited in the current year. Evolution of the total number of citations and journal's self-citations received by a journal's published documents during the three previous years.

Photochemistry is an area of science exploring the chemical effects of visible or near-visible light — typically reactions which are caused by absorption of ultraviolet radiation wavelength from to nm , visible light - nm or infrared radiation - nm. Photobiology is a related discipline involving the study of the biological effects of this type of radiation on living organisms, covering areas such as photosynthesis, ultraviolet skin damage, photomedicine and bioluminescence. The journal is published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, but owned and edited by several other scientific societies from the field of photoscience. These are:. The journal publishes 12 issues per year and has a 5-year impact factor of 2. It provides a current assessment of the effects of ozone depletion on human health and the environment, as well as the consequences of interactions between ozone depletion and global climate change. The journal of the month series showcases the high impact and globally renowned publishing work we do, whilst giving you an insight into our journals and the content they cover.

After online publication, further changes can only be made in the form of an Erratum, which will be hyperlinked to the article. Video files do not contain anything that flashes more than three times per second so that users prone to seizures caused by such effects are not put at risk.
There has recently been a renewed interest in the photochromic properties and uses of TiO 2 as a potential candidate for smart windows. However, the surrounding medium of TiO 2 nanoparticles NPs is of equal importance, as it facilitates hole scavenging and, in turn, photochromism.
Acknowledgments Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. Examples of statements to be used when funding has been received: Partial financial support was received from [ Forum The Forum section of the journal offers extremely rapid publication of critical comments or opinions on concepts and results expressed in papers published in PPS , as well as on actively debated topics in various fields of photochemistry and photobiology.
