But if you are thinking about pulling the trigger on these skis, you really need to keep reading to see if you and the Super 7 would be a good fit.

The most dynamic and versatile of the group is the Rossignol Soul 7. You will hear a lot of chatter around the internet that this is Rossignol's "new S3", which is somewhat true The Soul 7 is designed to have reduced swing weight and less overall poundage. Rossignol does this by introducing a honeycomb technology in the tip and tail of the skis visually these are really cool, just shine a light underneath the honey-comb areas and you'll know I'm talking about. They call this technology "Air Tip" and it provides the Soul 7 with exceptional floatation in softer snow, as well as the ability to quickly initiate tight turns.

This past August I was presented with a tough choice: keep mountain biking, or go skiing in New Zealand with the Blister crew. While our time in New Zealand was characterized by a lot of great skiing, we also encountered some challenging, variable conditions. And the Soul 7 skied really well for me each time out. I only skied these skis at the club fields, which means no true groomers. However, we did occasionally find some slopes that had either been wind-scoured or sun baked to a nice consistent plane, so I did get a chance to lay the Soul 7 over on edge. What I found was a ski that would reward either a forward, shovel-pressing stance or a more neutral, centered stance.

One of our favorite skis to take out on a deep powder day, the Rossignol Soul 7 HD W is also incredibly competent in all other snow conditions. The tapered tip and tail shape make this ski easy to bring around in most environments and make it surprisingly quick for its girth. The Soul 7, despite its attributes elsewhere, is most at home in deeper snow and off-piste. This ski could certainly become an excellent one-ski quiver for a woman who is also most comfortable in variable terrain, but who wants something which offers a kick on-piste as well. This was one of the arenas in which Rossignol really upped their game and caused us to choose this ski as the Editors' Choice. Rossi's use of their Air Tip technology, matched with a new Carbon Alloy Matrix, creates a ski that is as dependable as your favorite coffee mug. Despite the enormous rockered tips, which look like they would want to flap like a swallow's wings, there is amazing steadiness along the entire length of the ski. Not only does this ski love high-speed groomers, but we found it was confidence-building when gaining momentum in the steeps and off-piste conditions. This ski's dampness absorbs rippling terrain and allows you the freedom to go as fast as you'd like.

Rossignol has been a leading ski manufacturer for…well, for forever. They've been cranking out high-performance skis since your grandpa was slaying the gnar. The Soul 7 HD is no different, and after reading raving reviews about them, we decided to give the Soul 7s a shot ourselves. This ski is by far the widest underfoot in our review lineup. Measuring in at a whopping mm underfoot, it is just one step shy of being considered a true powder ski. We tested it in a cm length, but it has a progressive sidecut and short turn radius, so our testers felt it deserved a shot in our all-mountain category. The Soul 7 HD proved itself to be a great all-mountain ski with an obvious soft snow bias. Our testers found themselves fighting each other for them when we picked up fresh snow, and they tended to be left on the racks as conditions firmed up on the hill.

One memorable day of the trip involved hiking out of bounds at Mt. Went with the and have been happy. Is just too long for most applications? The thing I like about my Bridges is that they have a playful side but I can charge variable snow conditions and chop without getting thrown around. Thank you for all the great Blister reviews. We skied Fernie BC for 4 weeks in February and had about 8 great powder days in the middle of the month and the ski met all my expectations and more. Great review Jason. Any advice on what size I should get? I hear these skis, ski short. But for me, the tips and tails of the Bent Chetlers were still too soft for harder, chopped up conditions. The cm Super 7 seemed to ski really short like cm? This has got me leaning to the cm. I ended up purchasing the Soul 7's Other thought has been the Blizzard Bonafide 98 or Cham 97 or

After the S7, I was tempted to dismiss a ski belonging to the 7-Series as a tool for the easy-going or less-experienced skier. I hoped that Rossi had made a ski that was not only easy to ski, but that could also throw down. After 15 days on the Soul 7, here is what I have come to find….

Then he said "you've spent an awful lot of your life in the Deep South. Rossignol Soul 7's Jonathan mentioned in his review that he feels very confident that skiers under lbs. Any ideas for the bindings? My choice has come down to the cm soul 7 or the cm Francis Bacon. More Like This. Looking for a ski that can, of course, handle some great pow in addition to stay stable on chopped up pow and crud when its not the freshest day out. My current daily driver skis are Volkl Bridge cm and my powder skis are Volkl Chopsticks. It appears increasingly likely that I'll be moving out west at the end this school year, and though I wouldn't buy any ski until I knew where I'd be skiing regularly and had demoed a lot, I've started to pay more attention to big mountain and powder skis, which I don't know anything about. Is just too long for most applications? I LOVE my verdicts but they have served me well and need to be retired or at least set aside for a while.
