They have a lovely temperament which make them great pets for children. Although not as robust as a Silkie or a Pekin hen when being handled, they are sturdy and a fairly hardy little bird. They are inquisitive and fun but can be a little shy of big groups or people they do not know. They are easy to tame and once tame they will be part of the family and will love cuddles and fuss. Booted Bantam hens are very well suited to a small environment, they would not be a great bird in a large free roaming set up. They have a gentle and very chilled nature and mix well with other breeds. You will need to look out for bully birds with them, as they are not the type to cause a fight but can be bullied if you with a larger number of bully birds. As with Polish bantams they should always be in pairs at least and not mixed with big hybrids ever! They can go with some of our gentle large pure breeds with no problems such as Cochins or Brahmas. They will lay you up to little white eggs a year.
