Boethiah, the Daedric Prince of Deceit and Murder, has two artifacts that players can acquire in Skyrim : the katana Goldbrand and the Ebony Mail, a heavy chest piece. It was also seen in the second and third Elder Scrolls games Daggerfall and Morrowind , though its effects in Skyrim are completely different from before. As a relic of the Daedric Prince of Deceit, the Ebony Mail gives its wearer a set of effects that make it easier to sneak up on enemies and deal massive damage to them when combat starts — as long as the player stays in melee range that is. It's a powerful piece of armor that rivals some of the best late-game gear, though it certainly has some drawbacks. It can be tempered with an Ebony Ingot if a player has the Ebony Smithing perk, but its high defense makes it pretty powerful even without improvements. Plus, it's one of the lightest sets of Heavy Armor in the entire game, saving some valuable inventory space. Its special effects are twofold.
