Starkilleralso known as Galen Marek and The Apprenticeis the anti-hero main protagonist of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed project including a video game, starkiller, novel, and comicswho first appeared in the game Soulcalibur IV, starkiller. He is voiced by Sam Witwerwho also gave his likeness to the character. The character's name is taken from Star Wars creator George Lucas' working name for Starkiller Skywalker"Annikin Starkiller"; starkiller [5] the character is designed to be a "photo-negative" of Skywalker. However, GamesRadar has criticized Starkiller's design.

Following his mother's death, Kashyyyk was invaded by the Galactic Empire as a target of the Great Jedi Purge , Kento was confronted and slain in a lightsaber duel by the Dark Lord of the Sith , who discovered the fugitive Jedi's son in the process. Gauging the orphan's raw strength in the Force , Vader abducted and ultimately raised Marek, who became Starkiller, to embrace the dark side of the Force. In time Marek forgot his past and even his birth name, having been taken from his home as a child by the Dark Lord. Though trained in the ways of the Sith , the Rule of Two dictated that there could only be two Sith at a time, and therefore Starkiller could not consider himself a true Sith while his master was still apprenticed to Darth Sidious. As such, Vader kept his existence a secret, bestowing to him the call sign "Starkiller. For years , Starkiller aspired to truly become a Dark Lord of the Sith , believing it was his destiny to help Vader overthrow Sidious and usurp his throne as Galactic Emperor. As his training neared completion, Starkiller was formally acknowledged as an apprentice by Vader after surviving his trials, and was ordered by Vader to kill the few remaining members of the fallen Jedi Order —specifically the Jedi Masters Rahm Kota , Kazdan Paratus , and Shaak Ti. The secret apprentice completed his missions, prevailing against his more experienced targets, only to be betrayed by his master after the Emperor confronted them. Stunned by this turn of events, Starkiller nevertheless remained loyal to Vader, and began fomenting a rebellion against the reign of the Galactic Empire as part of his master's plan to depose Sidious. The mission was another ruse, however. After the apprentice convinced Bail Prestor Organa , Garm Bel Iblis , and Mon Mothma to join him, Vader had the senators arrested and left Marek for dead, betraying him once more, revealing he was but a tool in a plot by Sidious and Vader to crush the rebellion before it even began, however he lived. Resolving to rescue his allies, he managed to infiltrate the Death Star before the Emperor could execute them. Although he was killed in the ensuing battle aboard the battlestation , the senators were able to escape with the help of Marek's companions, PROXY and Juno Eclipse. As a result of the apprentice's actions, the Alliance to Restore the Republic was formed, uniting malcontents across the galaxy under the symbol of Marek's family. His parents were both members of the Jedi Order ; they married in secret during the Clone Wars , a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems which they continued to participate in until Mallie became pregnant.

The Emperor managed to pull out his other lightsaber starkiller Galen attacked, and Marek and Palpatine at last began an intensely ferocious duel, starkiller.

The Sith Warrior , also known as the Dark Apprentice , was the incarnation—created through the Force —of the darkness that resided within Starkiller , a young Human male who was secretly trained in the ways of the dark side by the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A Sith in all but name, Starkiller spent years honing his skills in lightsaber combat and Force techniques as Vader's secret apprentice and personal assassin. Aside from being the depiction of Starkiller's "dark side," the Sith Warrior was essentially the culmination of what the Starkiller could have become; a Dark Lord of the Sith , encased in a suit of armor painfully grafted to his body, who succeeded Vader as the apprentice of Darth Sidious. When Starkiller infiltrated the Jedi Temple on Coruscant for a third and final time , his search for further information on his dead father consequently led to his completion of the Jedi Trials. Trapped in an unconscious state during the final phase of the test, Starkiller was confronted by the Sith Warrior. After a long and brutal duel, Starkiller ultimately emerged victorious. But as he regained consciousness, the specter declared that Starkiller would never escape him. The Sith Warrior later resurfaced on the planet Kashyyyk through another Force vision. But unlike the event in the Jedi Temple, he appeared through Starkiller, who saw himself garbed in the same armor that the warrior possessed. As the Sith Warrior, Starkiller fought and defeated a Jedi Knight in his vision, only to discover immediately afterward that the opponent was his own father.

After the death of Marek, the original Starkiller, Vader endeavored to create a more powerful and obedient version of his fallen disciple, using a cloning facility on the planet Kamino to carry out this agenda. However, the procedure was imperfect, resulting in a series of unstable clones that succumbed to madness. Though initially impressing Vader with his progress, Subject was affected by the emotional imprints that he inherited from his template and consequently developed a fixation on Captain Juno Eclipse , a former Imperial officer whom Marek fell in love with. Dismissed by his master as another setback in a long line of failures, the clone fled from Kamino and began traveling across the galaxy to find Eclipse. Kota, believing the clone was in fact Marek, tried to convince him to rejoin the Alliance to Restore the Republic , but "Starkiller" was neither concerned with the Rebellion nor interested in assuming his progenitor's identity. However, his determination to be with Eclipse was used by Darth Vader as a way to lure the clone back to Kamino, having captured the Alliance officer in a battle near the Itani Nebula.

While he made short work of the Imperial forces in his path, he was attacked by another guardsman. Now Roosh and his gang had nothing to salvage or excavate, as the Empire simply got there first. Entering the guest quarters, he found himself facing Princess Leia Organa in a scene that precisely matched one of his visions while on the Empirical. However, due to side effects caused by the accelerated cloning process and memory flashes used in their training, the clones retained the original Marek's memories and emotions and were constantly haunted by visions of his life, many going insane within months. Juno took control of the ship almost immediately after, with Starkiller giving her free rein as to their destination. Without hesitation, Galen immediately stepped into the stream, taking the full brunt of it himself. The hologram seized the immediate offensive, all the while gloating about the accomplishments of the original Darth Desolous. Reaching the entrance to the command center, Starkiller took a moment to center himself before entering. Retrieved on March 4 , Vader also left Starkiller with orders to leave no witnesses by killing everyone on the shipyard including the Imperial troops, an order the Imperialist Starkiller found disturbing.

While it may have had some issues even when it was first released, The Force Unleashed games went a long way in re-invigorating interest in the Star Wars franchise following the luke-warm reception of the prequel trilogy. Gamers have had a chance to play as powerful wielders of the Force before, but Starkiller turned all of these powers up to 11 and was capable of decimating armies of clone soldiers and Jedi alike with little trouble through the use of both Jedi and Sith powers.

Starkiller disabled the golem and Kazdan Paratus then revealed himself, extricating himself from the golem's chassis, where he had been controlling it. Unable to penetrate this defense, Kota backed off and changed his style, fighting more slowly and deliberately, but chaining in sudden and devastatingly quick strikes, hoping to tire out Starkiller. Starkiller cautioned that if he and Vader were discovered communicating, or if the Rebels even suspected his past, then the entire mission would be a failure. The Felucian resisted Starkiller, though he was quickly brought down, and Starkiller killed the Rancor with a blast of Force lightning. Rahm Kota then appeared, sober and cleaned up, declaring that he would join as well, if he was welcome. Sturn piloted a heavily modified All Terrain Kashyyyk Transport , which he used to hunt Wookiee slaves, though he was eager to hunt a Jedi as well. Demanding that she stand aside, Starkiller was instead set upon by the bull rancor. Vader then cast the stone table at the center of the chamber at Starkiller, driving him outside into the snow. Beyond the viewport, a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers clustered around the incomplete Executor, the Emperor's flagship. To that end, he trained for years in the hopes of eventually helping Darth Vader in assassinating Sidious so that they could rule the galaxy together as master and apprentice. Starkiller had little patience for this and attacked the troopers.
