Tattered stitch embroidery
First attempt at a quilt. It's a baby gift for grandson of my oldest friends. I have had these designs for a long time and just never attempted the quilt.
It is a stunning design that demonstrated a high level of technical skills and was also presented just beautifully. I was curious to find out more about the person behind the lovely embroidery, so I chatted to Nicole about how she started machine embroidery and her small business Tattered Stitch Embroideries. I am the owner of Tattered Stitch Embroideries. I live in beautiful, sunny Arizona with my husband and business partner Jacques. We have one sweet, lovable Springer Spaniel, Daisy, and one persnickety cat, Dusty. While I have only recently been introduced to the world of embroidery, about 2 years ago I have been an illustrator for as long as I can remember. It is my passion really.

I was away and couldn't be at the shower - but, my daughter said these were a bit hit!

I learned to embroider when I was a kid, when everyone was really into cross stitch remember the '80s? Eventually, I migrated to surface embroidery, teaching myself with whatever I could get my hands on All Rights Reserved. I usually work these things out, through the aid of small samples. With the Hungarian Redwork Runner project, this approach held true, even though, in concept, this is a pretty simple project. The two questions are tied together. The heavier the thread, the more problematic it would be on this project to use stitches that produce a very heavy line. In the photo above, from left to right starting with the curl on the left, I tried perle cotton 5 using the Hungarian braided chain stitch. It is too thick. Feeling a lot like Goldilocks, I then tried perle cotton 8 with the Hungarian braided chain stitch , and I found that I liked it pretty well.

Your zipped file will include the sizes below. We suggest not opening up the files in any form of software. Please just upload straight to a USB stick and transfer to your machine that way. Often when files are opened up via another software program that is not native to the file we use Hatch to digitize with the fill effects that I give the patterns can get messed up and not read properly. Unfortunately, the different software programs out there often do not work well together.
