Speer leads the reformist faction within the National Socialist German Workers' Partytno speer, and believes that the party must reform itself and the country, in order to adapt to the modern age and survive. Speer joined the Nazi Party in and quickly became a member of Adolf Tno speer 's inner circle.

The Einheitspakt's emblem resembles that of the OTL European Union though with a circle of swastikas instead of stars and the Warsaw Pact the image of a handshake in the center. Like the former, the Einheitspakt is a pan-European organization dominated by Germany; like the latter, it is a hegemonic defense alliance led by a totalitarian dictatorship that enforces, with varying degrees of leniency, its ideology upon other members. Bait-and-Switch : Germany has a large opening focus tree with lots of foreign and local focuses, but only the first focus in this tree can be taken since it is forcibly swapped after Hitler is attacked by an assassin and has to name a successor.

That is all. Speer joined the Nazi Party in , quickly becoming a member of Adolf Hitler's inner circle. Speer oversaw the construction of many new structures during the time before the war including the Reichchancellery and the Zeppelinfeld stadium in Nuremberg where Party rallies were held. During the Second World War he was appointed the Minister of Armaments and War Production, and around that time he began designing the plan for reconstructing Berlin into Germania. Following the Nazi victory in the war Speer completed his plan for Berlin including the construction of the Volkshalle People's Hall , and was in the process of formulating several other projects when the German economy collapsed.

In the post-war years, and especially after the collapse of the German economy and its subsequent reorganising as a slave-based system , he became a large proponent of economic liberalization, leading the Reformist faction of the NSDAP. Albert Speer is a silver-tongued politician, knowing what to say on just the right occasion; an expert in getting people over to his side with honeyed words and promises tempered by his background as Minister of Armaments and War Production in the Second World War. Under his reign as the Minister of Economics, however, the economy has seen a steady decline, from the massively inefficient post-war economic system of slavery showing its undeniable flaws, to the general sensation of stagnation in Nazi policies. Yet, even though Speer was arguably one of if not the most important man responsible for engineering the mass slavery in Germany's colonies, today he speaks against the same creation he partook in and encouraged. After a period of moderate obscurity in the '50s, Speer began an intensive campaign of rallying his support.

The war will have massive repercussions throughout the world, as the fall of the German hegemony causes a chain reaction of conflicts throughout the world. Ever since the early years of the National Socialist German Workers' Party , many of the high ranking officials were hostile to one another. Petty disagreements and conflicting goals and ambitions were commonplace, with one of the few things party members could agree on being that Hitler was in charge. This situation came to a head in recent years. Adolf Hitler's health began to decline in the late 50s and early 60s. His mind and body deteriorated, and the various factions within the Reich began fighting for influence on the dying Hitler so that he would declare them the rightful successor to his position. Following the Reich's successful landing on the moon, celebrations were held throughout Germany. However, during the festivities an assassin appearing to be from the Japanese Secret Service though he was really from Burgundy attempted to kill Hitler. Uncertainty over Hitler's condition lead to troops loyal to the various factions mobilizing in preparation for a civil war, but this moment of chaos ended just as quickly when Hitler was revealed to be alive and in stable condition.

The Reformists, the Militarists, the dissident Conservatives — all have been extinguished. The former is made up of warhawks who believe that the Reich's glory can only be restored with renewed conquest, while the latter opposes this direction as suicide for Germany. Speer's path will eventually have to face a growing resistance movement that seeks their liberation. Then the RAF starts its rampage. Politically Incorrect Villain : Nearly the entire cast in Germany is a devout Nazi or shameless participant in the chauvinistic power structure they've created. Some state the Control Faction has spread its influence due to its adherence to Orthodox National Socialism and Hitler's glorious legacy. Karma Houdini Warranty : Should he lose the Civil War to Bormann and flee to the United States, he'll write a book attempting to absolve himself of his involvement with the regime. Blatant Lies : During reconstruction after the civil war, Bormann lifts all restrictions on smoking, even falsely claiming that Hitler told him on his deathbed that "Smoke does not harm the Aryan body". Head-in-the-Sand Management : At the height of his arrogance during the Opulence, Bormann instructs all of his subordinates to ignore the Hamburg protests and other uprisings, claiming that they will blow over with time. They are completely bewildered at the insane ideology of the Aryan Brotherhood , hardly reciprocating the same respect the Brotherhood has for them. As Germans are, they need some discipline, a whipping-into shape. His Einheitspakt and his Zollverein would be a well-oiled machine, propagating German domination not through wasteful pits of death that would only antagonize its colonies, but instead through a showcase of cultural, moral, economic and military supremacy. Bormann is lying through his teeth with this story, but there's no one powerful enough or alive to disprove it. Villainous Legacy : Regardless of what happens in the Reich, the precedent set by the Nazis' triumph has inspired various movements across the globe, from the Yockeyites in America to Konstantin Rodzaevsky's hardline Clerical Fascists in the Russian Anarchy. Meanwhile, if the reformists were purged, Hans Speidel or "Speidel the Snake" is depicted as a treacherous midget who refuses to help Bormann against the other German Civil War contestants. He considers himself the one true master of the Reich, discarding Hitler as someone to move on from and preparing to eliminate anyone else who would try to usurp his position. The war dealt such massive damage that the German Civil War can be directly attributed to it. If they weren't, I wouldn't be shaking hands with a Nazi fucking bastard like you. Hitler may have set the grounds for Germany's wings to fly high, but Speer will make sure that it will fly victorious. Retired Monster : Notably, his initial focus tree he doesn't get the chance to enact has got a section where he unleashes Heydrich's SS on protestors, then scapegoats them for the resulting bloody mess, suggesting that, despite Hitler's deteriorating physical and mental state, he still has the same vicious instincts and talent for using brutality to solve problems while maintaining plausible deniability that served him well in his youth.
