If you're wondering what horror movies are coming out ahead of the Halloween season, we've got you covered. Here's a list of all the new horror movies we are most looking forward to. Some of these will be in theaters, some will have limited theatrical release, and a few of these titles will be exclusively streaming, so you can watch right from home. We have a lucky collection of thirteen brand-new horror movies coming out between now and the end of October. We'll update and add more as they come in, but for now, we'd say there's plenty of new horror to look forward to this fall! As Phil mentioned in the most recent Terror Teletype join us! Word of mouth is still the best marketing tool that exists, and these smaller titles definitely deserve to be loved on. Valak is kicking us off this season with a much-anticipated sequel to 's The Nun. This time we're being transported to France circa A priest is murdered, and it seems an evil is spreading.

It also remains a low-budget way for high-minded filmmakers to be experimental and subversive, as well as for name-brand patron saints like Jason Blum and Jordan Peele and distributors like A24 to keep introducing fresh top rated new horror movies — metaphorically and literally — into the mix.

Evil lurks around every corner as a small family beautifully played by Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge and Kristen Cui has their vacation in the woods interrupted by four desperate strangers, all claiming that the apocalypse will happen unless one of the family members kills another. Dave Bautista is a standout as a gentle giant teacher trying to convince the couple using his brain versus brawn. Emily Tennant stars as Madison, an influencer who travels to Thailand for a paid vacation. To say anymore would ruin the nasty tricks, but the film is kept on the tracks via realistic views of technology and influencer economy. MVP goes to Cassandra Naud, a fellow traveler who has secrets of her own. Sexy and shocking, this sun kissed mystery is twisted enough to search out. They might not all work, but the pace is enough to keep audiences laughing.

The Philippou brothers keep everything off-kilter: All of the characters are worth caring about, even the annoying ones; places of refuge like hospitals and well-lit parties become insidious quickly; and there is a very real sense that this is exactly how dumb, young teens would act if they could easily pierce the veil between the living and the dead. Instead, "The Exorcist: Believer" revisits similar tropes from the original, and doesn't add anything new to our understanding of the demonic possessions central to the franchise, despite a major twist at the ending.
