UCI welcomes the distinctive experience transfer students contribute to our campus and gives priority to junior-level students transferring from California Community Colleges. In order to be eligible for admission to our university, you must meet the following requirements:.

Students transferring from other collegiate institutions may elect to meet as graduation requirements either: 1 those in effect at the time of enrollment at UCI; 2 those subsequently established; or 3 those in effect at UCI when the student first entered a previous, accredited collegiate institution, provided that the student has been continuously enrolled in a collegiate institution and that entry was not more than four years prior to the time of enrollment at UCI. A transfer student who has had a break of enrollment of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters excluding summer sessions may follow the requirements in effect at UCI: 1 at the time of enrollment at UCI; 2 those subsequently established; or 3 those in effect at the time of reentry into a previous, accredited collegiate institution, provided that reentry was not more than four years prior to enrollment at UCI.

One component of that commitment is the requirement that all undergraduates complete a set of general education GE requirements. General education courses introduce students to a range of ideas and intellectual activities that engage UCI scholars, providing both scope and balance to a University degree beyond the study of a specific major.
