During her marriage to the Vision , the Scarlet Witch used her reality-altering powers to create twin boys William and Thomas from two lost souls. Later Mephisto reclaimed the lost souls. However, their souls had been so transfigured by Wanda's magic that they destroyed the demon and dispersed.

Billy is, of course, the name of Wanda Maximoff and The Vision's son. Alongside his twin brother, Tommy, they were wiped from existence when the Scarlet Witch took down the Hex surrounding Westview in WandaVision. While comic book fans know their teenage counterparts eventually become the Young Avengers known as Wiccan and Speed, it's not quite that simple. When Wanda lost her children on the page after similarly creating them through Chaos Magic , their souls inhabited the bodies of Billy Kaplan and Thomas Shepard. So, they both are and aren't the Avenger's kids, but thanks to their "mother," the duo was granted incredible powers. As a reliable scooper has now explained, Billy Maximoff is very much in love with his boyfriend Eddie, though those claims about his soul taking over an empty shell appear to be correct. That's an interesting approach but one that lines up with what we saw in the comics. Agatha Harkness clearly takes an interest in Billy, no great surprise when he's the powerful son of the Scarlet Witch. It's unclear whether Tommy will show up as Speed but we've heard nothing to suggest the character has been cast As for Agatha's role in all this, it's possible she wants Wiccan's abilities for herself or hopes to train the boy in an effort to make things right after previously crossing paths with Wanda. It depends on whether she's remaining on a villainous path or will find redemption in this spin-off.

Now, with the spell over Agatha finally undone, she might seek out someone even more powerful than the Scarlet Witch: Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, aka the Demiurge. He was later revealed to be not only the reincarnated son of Wanda and Vision, but an all-powerful mystical figure called the Demiurge who holds the power to rewrite the rules of magic. But how would all that translate into the colossal MCU saga? Billy Kaplan's origins in the MCU could reflect his comic book roots. He might be a "copy" of Billy Maximoff created from Wanda's Hex or a completely different entity of himself.

Both characters have decades of comic histories that the MCU has so far not explored, but that is already changing quickly with WandaVision. In the lead up to WandaVision 's release, it didn't take long to realize that the show will explore Wanda and Vision having children. The marketing showed a pregnant Wanda and further confirmed that kids were on the way with shots of cribs and the happy couple holding their children. The reveal of a growing family was saved for the end of episode 2, allowing WandaVision episode 3 to focus on the twins' arrival completely. The episode follows Vision and Wanda as they try to prepare for their kids' arrival, which is happening at an alarmingly fast rate. They discuss baby names, redecorate the house, and have the kids all within a span of about 24 hours in their minds - even if the sitcom decade WandaVision copies has moved into the s. Their arrivals could have huge ramifications on WandaVision 's story and the MCU's future as members of the Young Avengers continue to appear. Wanda's entire pregnancy in WandaVision is another piece of the big illusion surrounding the entire show. Vision being alive and this domestic lifestyle in Westview point to this new life being a chance for Scarlet Witch to live the life she couldn't before. Her appearances in past MCU movies never mentioned her desire to have a family, but that might be because they didn't focus too heavily on her character.
